Some people say that dogs are “practice children.” Some people say they are “Man’s best friend.” Some people call them “family pets.” But inviting a dog into your home is often so much more than that. It is inviting someone into your family that will love you and be loved by you as much as a family member can be loved.

Some dogs struggle with unwanted behavioral issues. But every dog wants to be loved and accepted. With a Wheaton dog trainer, like Marc Goldberg and his team, you and your dog can learn the strategies and techniques that will help your canine companion become a more well-behaved member of your household.

What Types of Dog Training is Available in Wheaton, IL?

The approach we use here in Wheaton is intuitive, requires no force, and is applicable in the real world. Much of dog training is about the owner, not the pet, which is why many of our programs – including our pack leader programs – involve working with both you and your dog at the same time to teach both of you how to behavioral train using only the natural bond between you.

Our pack leader program is a private lesson where you meet with Marc and Patrick one on one and work on specific behavioral issues. These training programs are great for most simple behavioral issues, such as:

  • Tugging on the leash.
  • Stealing food from the table.
  • Housebreaking and crate training.
  • Jumping and humping.
  • Biting and chewing behaviors.

They also provide you with techniques to train in other behaviors and tricks as you gain experience. At the end of your Wheaton dog training session, your dog will have the ability to maintain their behavioral changes over time. You'll have not only a dog that is more well behaved, but also a dog that you share a deeper bond with and the knowledge about dog training techniques that you can use to help continue to train your pet over time.

Send Dog Away for Training from Wheaton, IL

We also offer a dog boarding school and dog bootcamp program for pets that would benefit from additional help.

If your dog does have more significant behavioral challenges, such as aggression, we are also one of the only dog trainers in Wheaton that offers a boarding service. Drop off your dog, let us start training, and come to pick up your dog at the end of their boarding school. The last day, we’ll work on showing you all the training techniques, and you’ll take home a better behaved dog.

These programs go from 1, 2, or 3 weeks. The 1 week program is best for dogs that just need some early stage help for learning new behaviors, where we get started training your dog and you continue when you get your dog back. The 2 week program provides more advanced training so that your dog is highly trained and behaved for life.

The 3 week program is for dogs that have more significant behavioral challenges, for example, dogs that are showing aggression to people or pets. This program we also guarantee for life and can provide additional support if ever needed.

Our Philosophy & Goals

Our philosophy is simple. Improve the life of both dog and family. All too often, unruly dogs do not fully enjoy life because their families constantly become upset and frustrated with them. This is difficult for both family and dog.

Our mission is simple. Make both dog and family happy.

What does is take to make your dog happy? He will thrive when you give him leadership and attention.

Making the family happy is a bit more complex.

Families typically want their dog to:

  • Come when called, every time, on or off leash
  • Walk nicely on a loose leash without pulling
  • Sit until released
  • Down until released

Families also want their dogs:

  • Not to jump on people
  • Not to charge through doors
  • Not to dig in the garden
  • Not to bark and chew  inappropriately
  • Not to climb on furniture you prefer they avoid
  • Not to sniff and eat off the table and counters.
  • Not to be wild and uncontrollable
  • Not to ignore you when you want their attention
