There is nothing quite as loving as a dog. Dogs love it when you’re happy, and their natural desire is to make you happy. When they struggle with a behavior, it is in their nature to figure out how to fix it to make you satisfied with them again. You simply need the right dog training to show them how.

Libertyville has always been a popular town for dog owners. But dogs do sometimes need that extra help to behave the way we want them to behave. If you need a Libertyville dog trainer, let Marc Goldberg and Patrick Farrell help. Marc, quite literally, "wrote the book" on dog training and uses an approach that has been picked up by dog trainers around the world. With his force-free method and gentle, friendly. style Marc (and his partner, Patrick) is able to work with all dog breeds to make sure that you and your pet have what you need to train the right long lasting behaviors.

About Our Dog Training Programs

Dog training is about providing guidance for both the dog and the owner. There are many different ways to dog train. One style, like clicker training, is popular with novice dog trainers. But in order to create long-lasting improvements, it's important for you and your dog to use a style that doesn't rely on treats and doesn't require you to bribe your dog into obedience.

The Force-Free method lets your dog be a dog, while still teaching them how to become a productive and happy member of the family. Many puppies throughout Libertyville are showing their model behavior as a result of this training style. Marc and Patrick also have many different ways to help you with your dog's behaviors, including traditional in-person training to boarding school and bootcamp style training.

We’ll Get It Started – Our Dog Boarding School Programs in Libertyville, IL

Our most popular service is our boarding school service, perfect for dog owners in Libertyville that want our expert dog trainers to take the lead, and then let you take over when we’re ready. Our dog boarding school is just that - a chance for your pet to be dropped off with us for an extended stay, receive some training from Marc and Patrick, and get started towards better behaviors. On the last day, we work with you on how to train your pet so that you can continue the new behaviors at home.

Our boarding school programs are available as one week, two week, and 3 week bootcamps. The length of stay depends on the behavioral challenges. For simpler needs, like leash training, your dog can stay with us for a week and come back walking perfectly on the leash every time. For more difficult behaviors like aggression and anxiety, your dog can stay with us for 2 or 3 weeks for better training and care.

We know it can be hard to leave your pet, but by the time the program is done, your dog will have most of the behaviors ready and will be excited for you to carry their improvements home with them. You can also consider coinciding these boarding school programs with vacations if necessary, or just drop your dog off with us as soon as you're ready.

Be Their Leader With Our Pack Leader Programs

Another option you may prefer is one of our pack leader programs. These more traditional dog trainer experiences pair you with Marc or Patrick, who will work with you and your dog to teach you about how to perform the ForceFree method and how to train your dog.

With these programs, we meet together for a one on one consultation, where we show you how to train your dog and work with you on the behaviors you want. These programs are great for reducing:

  • Chewing Behavior
  • Leash Pulling
  • Barking
  • Indoor Accidents
  • Jumping and Trash Stealing, and More

You’ll then be given the tools you need to take the techniques home with you, and since our training strategy is very effective and all force free, you’ll enjoy that time you spend with your dog teaching it new and exciting behaviors.

Our Philosophy & Goals

Our philosophy is simple. Improve the life of both dog and family. All too often, unruly dogs do not fully enjoy life because their families constantly become upset and frustrated with them. This is difficult for both family and dog.

Our mission is simple. Make both dog and family happy.

What does is take to make your dog happy? He will thrive when you give him leadership and attention.

Making the family happy is a bit more complex.

Families typically want their dog to:

  • Come when called, every time, on or off leash
  • Walk nicely on a loose leash without pulling
  • Sit until released
  • Down until released

Families also want their dogs:

  • Not to jump on people
  • Not to charge through doors
  • Not to dig in the garden
  • Not to bark and chew  inappropriately
  • Not to climb on furniture you prefer they avoid
  • Not to sniff and eat off the table and counters.
  • Not to be wild and uncontrollable
  • Not to ignore you when you want their attention
