Dogs are pure, friendly animals that only want to be valued members of the pack. When a dog struggles with a behavioral issue, it almost always means that it simply hasn’t received the right training on what it needs to do to be accepted into the family.

As Buffalo Grove dog trainers, we teach both you and your pet how to make yourselves a part of the family by learning the calm, kind, and effective techniques for training your dog. If you’re ready to get started, give us a call today at 1-224-407-2131 for a free behavioral consultation.

Does My Dog Need Training?

Dogs are loving members of our family. They naturally want to participate in family events and gatherings. But it takes patience and training to get them there. A dog’s natural instinct is to want to improve and become a part of the “pack.” That’s why simple guidance and obedience training can lead them in the right direction.

It is important to understand your dog’s behaviors in order to properly recognize and take care of misbehaviors. Our expert dog trainers, Marc Goldberg and Patrick Farrell are trained to address both common and uncommon behavioral issues. Our dog training services can assist you with issues that include, but are not limited to:

  • Excessive Jumping - It can be bothersome if your dog is constantly jumping on you or your guests. Jumping can also become dangerous as your dog may accidentally break household items or furniture.
  • Biting - It is important to control your dog’s nipping and biting early on, as later they may think it is still okay and become dangerous. It is also useful to address this issue if you have small children in the household that may be affected by unwanted nips.
  • Distracted Walking - Dog walking is important for your dog’s health. But it is hard to do if your dog doesn’t yet know how to walk safely on a leash. We can address distracted walking and similar issues that may be causing challenges with daily walks.
  • Listening - It is important that your dog understands and follows commands as it creates the optimal experience for both you and your dog. Obedience is key to building a trusting and relationship for the two of you.

These behaviors and more can be addressed with our dog training programs along with any other concerns you have about your dog’s behavior. We are happy to help create a mutually respectful and loving relationship between you and your dog.

About Our Dog Training Services in Buffalo Grove

Led by Marc Goldberg, we use a type of training that requires no force and doesn’t depend on clickers and treats. This methodology teaches your dog through compassion, using techniques that are effective for all dog breeds.

We offer several “Pack Leader” programs that involve an individual session with you and your pet, showing you how to properly train it to:

  • Walk on a leash.
  • Come when called.
  • Sit and lay down until released.
  • Avoid jumping on people and furniture.
  • Stay out of the trash and dirt.

This methodology helps with all traditional dog problem behaviors while also strengthening the bond between you and your puppy.

We are also pleased to offer boarding school and dog boot camp programs.

Our boarding school programs are very popular with both new and existing dog owners. With our boarding school options, we do the initial work for you. You drop your dog off for one, two, or three weeks, and we begin the training process. Once the boarding period ends, you and your family come to visit and we teach you the strategies you can use to take what you’ve learned home with you.

Our boarding school programs are also a great option for dogs that struggle with aggression as well.

First Step - Pack Leader Programs

If you and your dog simply need a kickstart on training and simple guidance, our pack leader programs are perfect for you. You will be able to see drastic progress in just a 2-hour session at our site or at yours. We offer the program specifically designed for puppies 8-16 weeks old or for dogs over 14 weeks. The programs include:

  • Pack Leader Program - In this program, our guarantee is to make quick progress and solve simple problems. Some of the problems include pulling on a leash, jumping, chewing, and other household issues. We provide you with a slip lead leash and collar along with written instructions to continue progress at home.
  • Puppy Pack Leader Program - It can be difficult to understand how to discipline and train a puppy to properly fit in with your family rules and behaviors. We will teach you the proper methods in which raising a puppy will be most optimal for your family. With this two hour private lesson, your puppy should be able to understand that chewing on household items isn’t okay and we can assist with crate training so that your pup can sleep through the night.

Once the two hour session is completed, we also include a one hour follow-up appointment within the first 6 months after the initial training session. This is to ensure your dog and you are implementing the right techniques and that progress is properly being made. We simply want to orient the two of you to have a loving and beneficial relationship.

Next Step - Dog Boarding School Programs

Our boarding school programs are for those that want us to lay the ground work. We have one week boarding schools that allow us to get some early training started for you. Or we have more advanced boarding schools for dogs struggling with aggression or severe anxiety. Our dog boarding school can also be for those owners who simply don’t have enough time to train their dogs themselves, or may be away for a long time anyway on a vacation and would appreciate a trained dog upon their return.

In this program we offer three options:

  • Amazing Dog 7 Day Boarding School
  • Dream Dog 14 Day Boarding School
  • Celebrity Rehab 21 Day Boarding School

Our programs can be personalized to fit your time and schedule as we offer them to be done over online video services such as Skype, WhatsApp, or FaceTime. The online sessions are 90 minutes long and are perfect for quick fixes. This option is $299 and is perfect for those who are pressed for time to come to our location.

If learning and training your dog in the comfort of your own home is preferrable, we are also happy to accommodate you. As long as we schedule this beforehand, our training team can help you and your dog build a loving and respectful relationship in the comfort of your own home.

Our Philosophy & Goals

Our philosophy is simple. Improve the life of both dog and family. All too often, unruly dogs do not fully enjoy life because their families constantly become upset and frustrated with them. This is difficult for both family and dog.

Our mission is simple. Make both dog and family happy.

What does is take to make your dog happy? He will thrive when you give him leadership and attention.

Making the family happy is a bit more complex.

Families typically want their dog to:

  • Come when called, every time, on or off leash
  • Walk nicely on a loose leash without pulling
  • Sit until released
  • Down until released

Families also want their dogs:

  • Not to jump on people
  • Not to charge through doors
  • Not to dig in the garden
  • Not to bark and chew  inappropriately
  • Not to climb on furniture you prefer they avoid
  • Not to sniff and eat off the table and counters.
  • Not to be wild and uncontrollable
  • Not to ignore you when you want their attention
