When is Your Dog a Candidate for Our Pack Leader Programs?

You may find yourself in a situation where you need to teach your dog some basic household behaviors. Puppies, shelter dogs, and even dogs that have been in teh family for a long time can benefit from one on one dog training with you, your dog, and Marc or Patrick. That is when you are a great candidate for our pack leader program or our puppy pack leader program. Most dog owners contact us when they struggle with any one of the following challenges.

  • My Dog is Chewing My Home
  • My Dog is Pulling the Leash
  • My Dog is Refusing the Crate or Urinating Inside
  • My Dog is Stealing Food or Jumping on People
  • My Dog is Not Recognizing its Name or Commands

Our Pack Leader programs are designed for that personal, in depth training that helps you and your dog adjust to a life together. Marc is a promoter of the "ForceFree Method," a style of dog training that teaches pets to behave in accordance with your household, while still letting them be a dog. These personal and private sessions with you and your pet allow you to both learn the training techniques the experts use, train your dog in the behaviors you want, and bond with your pet in a way that is great for your long term connection.

The training we give you and your dog is perfect for learning more about how to teach your pet the behaviors you want in a way that is kind, loving, and above-all-else, effective. Our Highand Park dog training service can take place at your home, or at our Little Dog Farm where there is plenty of room to walk and roam.

When is Your Dog a Candidate for Our Boarding School Dog Training Program?

Our Pack Leader Program is similar to a traditional dog training program, with a set amount of time between you and your Chicago dog trainers. But we also know that not everyone has time to train their dogs, even with traditional dog training. In addition, there are some behaviors that need more in-depth interventions that are often best left handled by a professional.

That's why we also offer Highland Park dog boarding and training programs - almost like dog bootcamp, where you leave your pet with us for 7, 14, or 21 days, and we do the training first before you come on the last day and we train you on how to take this growth home with you.

Our 7 day boarding school program is there to get you started. Great for untrained pets, especially those that are new to your home, this program teaches your dog to walk on a leash, come when called, and other basic behaviors. Our 14 day boarding school program is similar, but by the 14th day your dog will be an expert at all of these behaviors, and ready to adapt back into your pack.

Our 21 day dog boarding school program is for Highland Park dog parents whose dogs are struggling with more severe behavioral issues - most notably, aggression and anxiety. Usually the requests are related to the following concerns::

  • My Dog is Aggressive Towards My Family
  • My Dog is Aggressive Towards Other Dogs or People
  • My Dog is Anxious All the Time
  • My Dog Shows Extreme Behavioral Issues

These types of behaviors benefit from a bit of a longer approach, which is why we use the 21 day program as a way to keep training your dog to feel more confident, less aggressive, and more. Then, when you show up on the last day, we'll show you how to continue helping your dog feel happy and confident in your household, and kind to both people and pets. \

Our Philosophy & Goals

Our philosophy is simple. Improve the life of both dog and family. All too often, unruly dogs do not fully enjoy life because their families constantly become upset and frustrated with them. This is difficult for both family and dog.

Our mission is simple. Make both dog and family happy.

What does is take to make your dog happy? He will thrive when you give him leadership and attention.

Making the family happy is a bit more complex.

Families typically want their dog to:

  • Come when called, every time, on or off leash
  • Walk nicely on a loose leash without pulling
  • Sit until released
  • Down until released

Families also want their dogs:

  • Not to jump on people
  • Not to charge through doors
  • Not to dig in the garden
  • Not to bark and chew  inappropriately
  • Not to climb on furniture you prefer they avoid
  • Not to sniff and eat off the table and counters.
  • Not to be wild and uncontrollable
  • Not to ignore you when you want their attention
