Every dog becomes a part of the family, and yet often to be a member of that family, it is important to make sure that your dog is adapted to the needs of the household. Dogs want to learn, but they also still sometimes need more help understanding how to behave and what you expect from them. Often that requires help from an experienced Glenview dog trainer.

Based near Glenview, Marc Goldberg has written books about dog training that have pushed trainers around the country to re-think how they approach the behavioral needs of dogs. He and his team are available right here in the Glenview area, using a force-free method that is perfect for you and your pet. Schedule your appointment today at 1-224-407-2131.

Benefits of a Glenview Dog Trainer

It’s sometimes important to remember that dogs love being accepted into the family. They just haven’t yet figured out how to behave. With Marc’s approach, you are able to make sure that your dog successfully learns important behaviors, such as:

  • Staying off people and furniture.
  • Walking on the leash.
  • Coming when called for.
  • Going potty outside.
  • Remaining calm when doorbells ring, and more.

Not only does this methodology use no force – our Glenview, IL dog trainers also do not bribe with clickers and treats, as those strategies tend to be only effective in ideal conditions. The behaviors they learn during our dog training sessions will continue to be carried with them in other situations, because it teaches them in an environment that they understand and also lets them be a dog.

Our Glenview Dog Training Services

In order to give you and your dog the best possible service and support, Marc Goldberg and his partner Patrick Farrell offer several dog training options for doggy parents in Glenview, IL looking to train their dog on their most important behaviors. It starts with our Pack Leader Program, which provides private dog training where you and your dog(s) come to the Little Dog Farm and use the ForceFree method to learn household behaviors.

Our Pack Leader Programs are designed for both puppies and adult dogs, and are great for dogs no matter how long they have been in your family.

We also have a dog bootcamp and dog boarding school program option. These three programs provide different levels of dog training for your pet. You send your dog way for training to our Little Dog Farm, and we teach your dog the techniques and behaviors it needs. On the last day, you come to pick up your dog and we go to work training YOU.

Options include 1, 2, and 3 week sessions:

  • 1 Week - We lay the groundwork for the dog behaviors your pet needs to learn to fit in with the house. You continue the training at home in your spare time.
  • 2 Week - We provide comprehensive dog training so that your pet is essentially completely ready to behave in the household by the time you pick them up.
  • 3 Week - We provide intensive training for pets that struggle with anxiety, depression, and aggression. We'll help your dog with these behaviors in addition to training, to help your dog be happier and healthier.

Our Philosophy & Goals

Our philosophy is simple. Improve the life of both dog and family. All too often, unruly dogs do not fully enjoy life because their families constantly become upset and frustrated with them. This is difficult for both family and dog.

Our mission is simple. Make both dog and family happy.

What does is take to make your dog happy? He will thrive when you give him leadership and attention.

Making the family happy is a bit more complex.

Families typically want their dog to:

  • Come when called, every time, on or off leash
  • Walk nicely on a loose leash without pulling
  • Sit until released
  • Down until released

Families also want their dogs:

  • Not to jump on people
  • Not to charge through doors
  • Not to dig in the garden
  • Not to bark and chew  inappropriately
  • Not to climb on furniture you prefer they avoid
  • Not to sniff and eat off the table and counters.
  • Not to be wild and uncontrollable
  • Not to ignore you when you want their attention
