Every dog wants to learn how to be the best family member it can be. It is in its nature to be the best possible member of the pack that it can be, and while you may not always realize it, your dog gets upset and disappointed in itself every time it doesn't ive up to your expectations. Your dog wants to behave the way you want it to behave. It just doesn't know how.

That's because your dog needs someone to help teach it those skills. That is why it helps to partner with an Elk Grove dog trainer – someone that understands the needs of your dog, while also teaching you strategies that are more effective, gentle, and long lasting than clicker training or force.

About Marc Goldberg and Chicago Dog Trainer

Marc Goldberg, and the rest of the dog training team are here to help you and your canine companion adapt to the home environment and learn behaviors that last. Marc has written books on dog training strategy that are now utilized by dog trainers throughout the United States. He and his parter Patrick Farrell personally help you with all of your Elk Grove, IL dog's training needs, and can teach both your dog and you with private lessons that are certain to make an impact.

Using strategies that utilize and strengthen your bond with your dog, our trainers can help you with common household issues such as:

  • Housebreaking and Crate Training
  • Chewing Behaviors
  • Leash Training and Dog Aggression
  • Jumping and Food Stealing
  • Barking, and More

These strategies are also gentle and require no force or aggressive behavior to push them to act a certain way. They also do not rely on clickers, which are useful for tricks but not realistic for long-lasting behavioral change.

Our Pack Leader Program involves private sessions where we work with you and your dog(s) on specific behaviors, and teach you how to continue the training on your own. We have Pack Leader programs for both puppies and adult dogs, and can also train multiple dogs if needed.

If your dog shows more problematic behaviors, such as:

  • Aggression Against People
  • Aggression Against Dogs
  • Severe Anxiety

Or if you decide you would like to have us begin training for you by sending your dog away for training, we recommend our boarding school programs. Like boot camps, these programs have you leave your dog with us for 1, 2, or 3 weeks depending on the behavioral needs.

Our 1 week program has us provide you with early dog training, and you continue with your dog at home. Our 2 week program trains your dog thoroughy with all household behaviors. Our 3 week program is for dogs that have more difficult or severe behavioral challenges that need to be addressed.

Dog owners from all around the country drop their dogs off with us to train them, while on the last day allowing us to train the families on what they need to take the improvements home with them. It is perfect for nearby Elk Grove dog owners, that want to make sure their pets are both well trained and well cared for. Let Marc and his team provide the Elk Grove dog training that your pet deserves, and help you make sure you have a well behaved, welcome pet in your home.

Our Philosophy & Goals

Our philosophy is simple. Improve the life of both dog and family. All too often, unruly dogs do not fully enjoy life because their families constantly become upset and frustrated with them. This is difficult for both family and dog.

Our mission is simple. Make both dog and family happy.

What does is take to make your dog happy? He will thrive when you give him leadership and attention.

Making the family happy is a bit more complex.

Families typically want their dog to:

  • Come when called, every time, on or off leash
  • Walk nicely on a loose leash without pulling
  • Sit until released
  • Down until released

Families also want their dogs:

  • Not to jump on people
  • Not to charge through doors
  • Not to dig in the garden
  • Not to bark and chew  inappropriately
  • Not to climb on furniture you prefer they avoid
  • Not to sniff and eat off the table and counters.
  • Not to be wild and uncontrollable
  • Not to ignore you when you want their attention
