Elgin, IL has long been a popular place for families. And families are popular places for dogs. Elgin is home to many dog owners of all different breeds.
Your dog may be a member of the family, but it is also an animal. Sometimes, it needs to receive training using kinder, more natural training methods to bring about its best possible behaviors.
As experienced Elgin dog trainers, Marc Goldberg and his team are available to teach you and your dog a gentle, more effective way to train your pet. With the ForceFree method, you will be able to see a noticeable change in your dog’s behavior, all with techniques that will last a lifetime.
Behaviors Signaling Your Dog May Need Training
Every family member has their challenges. But while people can communicate these challenges to each other, dogs require specialized training to be taught how to properly behave. Training will help transition your dog into the home and help it become a responsible, well-behaved member of your family.
All dogs benefit from training. Many of our training sessions come with training for owners, allowing you to learn the techniques that are necessary to help work your dog through whatever it struggles with. Some of the most common behaviors for dog training include:
- Aggression - If your dog is exhibiting aggressive behaviors, it is important to act upon it quickly and put your dog in training. We have several dog training programs in Elgin, Illinois for those that have dogs that exhibit signs of aggressive behavior, which includes growling, showing teeth, angry barking, and biting.
- Walking - The ability to walk on a leash is critical for your pet’s safety and for more comfortable walks. Leash training in Elgin can help your dog learn to stop pulling on the leash, barking at other people and dogs, chasing other objects, refusing to continue walking, and struggling to heel to one side.
- Jumping - Nobody wants to feel like they’re being attacked by a dog. If your dog continues to jump on guests or other family members, it is time for dog training. Unwanted jumping may even start to cause damage to household furniture or other valuable objects.
- Listening - If your dog is selectively hearing, the behavior calls for training. Your dog needs obedience training to be able to come to you at command or when you call his/her name.
These are only a few of the many behaviors that can be addressed with dog training, and with Chicago Dog Trainers Marc Goldberg and Patrick Farrell, you can feel confident that you’re receiving expert training from highly experienced trainers.

We offer several different programs to help you and your dog thrive, including:
- Pack Leader Program – Our Pack Leader Program is our most popular. Our Elgin dog trainers will show you how to become pack leader and resolve common issues like chewing, housebreaking, and leash pulling, all in a few short sessions. We also have remote video sessions available for those far from Elgin and Chicago.
- Puppy Pack Leader – Similar to the traditional Pack Leader program, the Puppy Pack Leader program is where we teach you and your family how to raise a well-behaved puppy that is crate trained, loving, and ready to learn the lessons of the world.
- Boarding Schools – For dogs that require more in-depth assistance or when you don’t have time to train yourself, we have our doggy boot camp and boarding schools. We have several that are useful for simple behaviors, as well as longer programs for advanced behavioral issues, such as aggression and anxiety, where we can help get training started and then teach you the tools you need to keep up what your pet has learned.
Many people think dog training is about training dogs. But often, it’s really about training ourselves. Dogs already want to be loving, helpful family members, and simply need the right techniques to make progress in the household.
